David Warner to Guest Star in Doctor Who
I’m not usually one for posting guest star casting news for Doctor Who, but this is a special occasion. The David Warner will be guest staring in an upcoming episode of Doctor Who.
David Warner is a a genre actor with a list of SciFi/Fantasy/Horror movie credits on IMDB longer than my arm. just to name a few, he was in Tron, StarTrek V and IV as two different characters, an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation (There Are Four Lights!), The Omen, Gargoyles, and Time Bandits, just to name a few.
Warner also has a history with Doctor Who. He has provided voices for many characters in Big Finish Doctor Who audio plays for their regular monthly range. He also played The Doctor in two of Big Finish’s Doctor Who Unbound Plays opposite Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier. The Unbound series is Big Finish’s range of “What If” stories where they get well known actors who have never played The Doctor, to play The Doctor along side classic companions.
David Warner also starred as Lord Azlok alongside David Tennant in the animated Doctor Who: Dreamland.
I have always thought that David Warner would make an excellent Doctor, and after hearing him play the part in the Big Finish Doctor Who Unbound plays Sympathy For the Devil and Masters of War, I know for a fact that he would be great at it. I’m all for Matt Smith hanging around as The Doctor for a few more years, but I think we should get the David Warner for Doctor 12 campaign started now.
