BBC Greenlights Muppets No Strings Attached
The Muppets are coming back to the small screen. The BBC have greenlit a a new series called Muppets No Strings Attached, it will have a similar format to the original Muppet Show. No Strings Attached will be a variety show, have two celebrity guests per episode, and a whole new cast of Muppets. There is no word yet on whether Kermit or any of the classic Muppets will make appearances.
And before anyone asks why Muppet news made it onto a SciFi site (I’m looking at you SciFiJunkie), the Muppets exist in a universe where humans co-exist with felt based talking animals, monsters, and aliens. Sounds SciFi to me.
Well, Jim Henson worked on The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, two Fantasy titles that semi fit into the field of SciFiFX’s larger scope. I would also like to present Muppets from Space as Science Fiction, another Jim Henson Pictures work.
Many of the characters on Farscape were Muppets.
Yoda was a Muppet, ’nuff said.
A third of the cast of Return of the Jedi were Muppets.
